Kayak Coach Training
In Sheltered Water
A certified Kayak Coach is able to plan, deliver and review progressive sessions safely, effectively and independently in sheltered water. Our practical, hands-on Kayak Coach Training is a 6-day course that includes the generic two day Core Coach Training followed by the 2-day kayak-specific training in sheltered water. Two more days provide opportunity to coach a variety of real learners with feedback and discussion.
Prerequisites:
Assessment is separate from this training. It includes demonstrating that the Coach is capable of planning, delivering and reviewing progressive sessions, and doing so safely and effectively. Passing assessment earns a certification from Paddlesports UK.

Sea Kayak Coach Training
In Sea Conditions
At this level, the coach uses environmental features and conditions in students’ learning. Sea Kayak Coach Training is a 6-day course that reviews Core Coach principles and teaches how to apply them in environmental context. Practice coaching real students, with feedback and discussion.
Prerequisites:
Complete the Paddlesports UK Coach eLearning module
Assessment is separate from this training. It includes demonstrating that the Coach is capable of planning, delivering and reviewing progressive sessions safely and effectively utilizing natural features and moderate water conditions. Passing assessment earns a certification from Paddlesports UK.
