“Family in the wilderness” is at the heart of Jennifer Gwen Hughs’ photos. I’m not sure if it’s part of a larger trend, or if we’re just seeing more families taking trips together here at Sea Kayak Baja Mexico, but I find myself encouraged by it on many levels.
Jennifer has been taking her youngsters out, and inviting other families, since they were babies. Their experience managing themselves in the wilderness went a long way towards managing the risks inherent in the desert environment (the impacts of which can be greater for kids). Their experience also prepared them to enjoy the family time and the exploration to its fullest.
