Formed by a volcano only about 16,000 years ago, Isla Coronados is a young island. White sand beaches, beautiful scenery, and accessibility to Loreto make it a popular day trip. Our panga captain will take you on an exploration around the rugged side of the island to see a sea lion colony and fascinating geological formations. Weather permitting, you may snorkel or kayak near the sea lions. Disembark for lunch and some relaxation on a long white sand beach. Soak up the sun or take the shade of a sun tarp. Snorkel the bay to see vibrant fish life. Enjoy the freedom of paddling along the beach or into the next bay. There is also a rugged hike up the volcano mound with rewarding views. Return to Loreto in the early afternoon.
Choose between paddling to the island in sea kayak (experience required) or getting there by motorboat and paddling a sit-on-top or paddle board.
For paddlers with experience (wet exit, boat control in small whitecaps), it is possible to paddle to the island and back. Meet in Loreto and caravan north to a rocky beach near the island. Paddle the 1.5 miles across to the island. Return to the beach via kayak, and drive back to Loreto.
Experience required. Tour includes sea kayak, paddle, life jacket, spray deck, dry bag, guide, trail lunch, and Marine Park permits. Transportation to launch not included. Full day tour. Prices per person
