Coronados Coast Builder

Mulege to Loreto’s southern section

This sweet little section of coast with its iconic volcano island comes to you by special request of our guides. Starting at the post-card beautiful San Basilio, we pass the hidden estuary of San Bruno along the way before heading across to the island. If it’s windy, expect modest surf landings. Which means, of course, opportunity to play in the surf!

Also expect great snorkeling, a variety of coastline, and the delightful Coronados Island with is red cinders, its lava feeder tubes frozen in time, and its weather-sculpted formations. A colony of sea lions enjoys a haul-out on the remote NE corner of the island.

If you’ve started Mulege to Loreto before and want the rest of the story, or if you’ve seen the other islands and have a hankering for new scenery, or if you just like to explore beautiful places, this trip is for you!

While not a high-mileage trip, we still classify it as a Builder for its exposure to the Norte winds common between December and early March. It’s a great opportunity for applied learning, and for playful conditions along a spectacular coast.
