Because sea kayaking in Baja is a wilderness activity, and because SKBM offers trips for paddlers with experience, we have graded the levels of trips to accommodate different levels of experience and skill and fitness.

These competencies are recommended for specific levels of trip:

• Getaway & Primer – Comfortable wet exit, basic boat control.
• Builder – In control in 2-3′ seas, comfortable helping others.
• Expedition – Playful in pervasive whitecaps, overhead seas, and surf landings. A solid asset to the team.

If, in your guides’ best judgment, your participation presents a hazard to the group, you will incur the expense of a motorboat shuttle or taxi back to Loreto.

You will be responsible for hotel, transportation, and other expenses thereafter.

In addition, SKBM does our utmost to provide each client their first-choice kayak, but it is not always possible due to other requests and safety considerations for all.

The more accurate information you can provide us about your stature, your experience, and the kayaks you’re accustomed to paddling, the more appropriate boat assignment we can make for you.
